1. Controller

2. Personal data we collect

Membership and certification data: name, contact details, company registration data, trade experience records, examination results, certificate numbers and validity dates, apprenticeship logbook entries.

Correspondence data: the contents of enquiries, complaints and technical requests you send to us, together with your contact details.

Technical data: server log data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, retained for security and statistical purposes.

3. Purposes and legal bases (Art. 6 GDPR)

Performance of the membership relationship and certification (Art. 6(1)(b)) — administering applications, examinations, certificates and the member directory.

Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — accounting, tax and non-profit reporting obligations under Latvian law.

Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — replying to enquiries, protecting the integrity of certification, and securing our systems.

Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — publication of optional directory details and any newsletter subscription. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.

4. Publication in the member directory

Certification status, certificate number, tier, city and business name are published in the public member directory as part of the association's public benefit function of allowing credentials to be verified. Private residential addresses and personal telephone numbers are never published.

5. Recipients and transfers

Data may be shared with examination assessors bound by confidentiality, with our accountants, and with public authorities where required by law. We do not sell personal data. We do not transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area.

6. Retention

Certification records are retained for the validity period of the certificate plus ten years, to allow historic credentials to be verified. Accounting records are retained for the period required by Latvian law. Correspondence is retained for three years. Server logs are retained for six months.

7. Cookies

This website uses only strictly necessary cookies and local storage required to remember your language preference and to keep the site secure. No advertising, profiling or third-party tracking cookies are set, and no consent banner is therefore required under Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time. Requests may be sent to merle-fowlercbhp@gmx.com and are answered within one month.

You may lodge a complaint with the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija), Elijas iela 17, Rīga, LV-1050.

9. Security

Access to member records is restricted to authorised office staff and committee members. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on systems located within the European Union.
