Membership

Membership tiers

Three membership tiers, each with its own examination and renewal requirements.

Certified Individual Craftsman

€85 / year

  • Minimum four years of documented trade practice
  • Practical examination before the Apprenticeship Evaluation Council
  • Written assessment on standards, safety and materials
  • Re-certification every five years

Licensed Contracting Company

€340 / year

  • Registered in Latvia with valid liability insurance
  • At least one certified master craftsman on staff
  • Site inspection of two completed projects
  • Annual declaration of labour and subcontracting practice

Registered Apprentice

€25 / year

  • Placement with a certified master or member company
  • Maintained apprenticeship logbook
  • Annual progression review
  • Fee waived for first-year vocational students

Requirements for joining

  1. 01Submit the application form with proof of identity and, for companies, registration and insurance documents.
  2. 02Provide references from two clients or one certified member for practical work carried out in the last three years.
  3. 03Sign the Code of Ethics agreement and consent to inspection of works submitted for assessment.
  4. 04Pass the applicable examination or inspection for the requested tier.
  5. 05Pay the annual membership fee; membership commences on confirmation by the Board.

Continuous education requirements

  • Certified craftsmen: 16 hours of recognised technical training per year, at least 4 of which cover occupational safety.
  • Member companies: annual toolbox training record for all finishing crews, plus attendance at one standards briefing.
  • Apprentices: participation in at least two master classes per year and a completed logbook review.
  • Training delivered by the association, recognised vocational institutions or manufacturers' technical academies is accepted.
